
A chieftain of the labour party, Pat Utomi has revealed how he fell out from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, even as he was one of those who had founded the party, where he pointed out that they were all about the power, which eventually led him to give up on the party.
Pat Utomi who made this statement during an interview he had, according to Nigerian Tribune noted that the All Progressives Congress, APC never showed interest in creating a platform where political office holders can be constantly educated to enable one do the right thing.
He noted that after discovering that there was no such zeal, and that the general disposition was for the fight for power, he immediately gave up on APC within the first few months of the 2015 election .
In his words…. “I gave up since I realized that there wasn’t any serious interest in creating that platform to educate political office holders. And, I decided that we were not going to go very far because of that general disposition, it was just about power. That was when I lost interest in the APC within the first few months of the 2015 election that there is no interest in doing anything for Nigeria”
One will not be wrong to say that Pat Utomi is among those who had pushed for the Peter Obi’s presidency of the labour party.
