Reverend Father John Chinenye Oluoma, a Catholic priest in Abuja sends an important message to believers via a recent post on his official Facebook page (Fada Oluoma).
According to him, “Stop listening to people who excite you with the evils that will befall your enemies. Stop saying amen to prayers that condemn your enemies to woes. Stop patronizing people who feed you with the bad things you wish happen to your enemies, they are harvesting your peace of mind, they are turning you to religious zombie. The author and finisher of our faith said you should love and pray for your enemies. Anyone telling you the contrary is an antichrist.”
So, the the type of prayer you should stop saying Amen to are the prayers that condemn your enemies to woes. “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:43)
