Spokesman of the northern elders’ forum, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has revealed that Nigerians have been fooled by the political class into thinking that if a Muslim becomes the president, a Christian Loses and if a Christian becomes the leader, A Muslim loses.
According to Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, it’s all fake because the politicians are using such cliche for their own political and personal gain.
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed made the remarks when he was reacting to the tussle ahead of the leadership of the 10th national assembly, the senate presidency. In his remark, he noted that there is nothing as an imbalance even if the senate president is a Muslim because the most important thing is to have a working country.
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed who had earlier argued that the senate presidency should go to the northwest because the northwest gave Tinubu his largest number of votes, stressed that the senate should be allowed to make its decision in electing its leaders.
In his words “they fooled people into thinking that if a Muslim becomes a leader, a Christian Loses. If a Christian becomes a leader, a Muslim loses”.
