In fulfilment of his campaign promise of ensuring an all-inclusive representation at the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Martins Ekwueme, the new Minority Whip of the Enugu state House of Assembly, has opened a suggestion box for his Uzo Uwani state Constituency.
The suggestion box which is an online link through which the lawmaker’s constituents would reach the Assembly member and contribute their opinions in the task of representing the rural Constituency, was announced by the personal aide to the lawmaker, Hon. Joseph Idu, on Wednesday, 5th of July, 2023.
A visit at the box-link which was widely shared across the social media platform for the people of the Constituency showed an introductory note of the parliamentarian, details of the visitor as well as his or her suggestions for the greater good of the people of the district.
Recall that Hon. Ekwueme had, while campaigning in the last elections, pledged to run an Open-door representation, with a suggestion box readily provided for easy accessibility of the lawmaker by the Constituency, for quality contributions in the task of representing the rural Constituency.
According to Ekwueme: “This is a bridge, a nexus between me and my Constituents. It was contained in my contract with them during my campaigns.
“The essence is to ensure accessibility of their lawmaker and to also enable them contribute immesurably in ensuring a better environment for our people.
“You know this is digital era, where almost every government activity is conducted online? I am talking about zoom meetings and the rest, so I have to come up with something in line with the age also”; the lawmaker concluded.
