Embattled socialite and show promoter, Samsom Erinfolami Balogun, popularly known as Sam Larry has spoken out from an undisclosed location, strongly refuting any connection in the untimely death of the up-and-coming star, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
His defence is sequel to the outrage that greeted a video that showed him (Sam Larry) leading a group of people to harass Mohbad when filming a music video with another singer, Zlatan, as well as an alleged altercation in a nightclub.
Mohbad, who was previously signed to Naira Marley’s label, lost his life under mysterious circumstances that have sent shockwaves through the music industry and its fan base.
This is even as a petition by the late singer surfaced online, where the deceased alleged that his life was under threat and sought police protection from Sam Larry and others.
In a video circulating on social media, Larry, who hasn’t commented on the controversy since the singer’s passing, said he loved Mohbad and that he was like a brother to him.
He said, “Having a fight does not mean that I want him dead. I cannot kill Mohbad. The videos going viral are of old events of things that happened last year.. Zlatan is my witness. Call Zlatan and ask him.”
The Force public relations officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Thursday was quoted to that said that the police would carry out a diligent investigation into the cause of Mohbad’s death.
