In a bid to strengthen economic and military ties between their countries, the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will meet the Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Thursday.
This was confirmed by the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov. “I can confirm. There will be Russian-Iranian negotiations on December 7,” Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
Putin had visited Iran in July 2022 while the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov travelled to Tehran for talks with regional counterparts in the October of the same year.
According to Iran’s official news agency, Irna, Raisi’s scheduled travel to Moscow follows an invitation from Putin.
Irna reported: The “Bilateral issues, including economic interactions, as well as discussions about regional and international issues, especially the situation in Gaza, will be high on the agenda of the one-day trip”.
