The Abia State Government has issued an order for all local government chairmen to remove political billboards used in the previous general elections.
This directive, signed by Okey Kanu, the commissioner for information and culture, also requires the removal of all 2023 election billboards before Christmas.
The government’s statement emphasizes that this removal should apply to billboards of all political parties.
“This directive has become imperative as elections are long over and it is time for governance.
“It is important to note that this directive applies across the board to all the political parties in the State. The Mayors are to ensure strict compliance,” he said.
