In light of the calmer political situation in oil-rich Rivers State, Governor Simi Fubara has given his consent for civil servants under the government’s payroll to receive a N100,000 Christmas bonus.
The Commissioner of Information and Communications, Warisenibo Johnson, made this announcement on Tuesday.
The governor’s approval for the bonus payment is intended to ensure that workers can enjoy a joyful holiday season this year.
This decision was made shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu successfully mediated an agreement between Gov Fubara and the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, resulting in eight-point resolutions to resolve the deadlock.
Responding to the resolution of the crisis, Fubara stated that there is no price too high to pay for the sake of peace.
“There is no price that will be too big to pay to ensure peace prevails”, he stated.
