Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is set to be the chief host at a special dinner for the Super Eagles organized by the Lagos State Government on Tuesday night.
This event precedes the departure of the three-time champions for Cote d’Ivoire, where they will participate in the 34th Africa Cup of Nations finals starting this weekend.
Sports Development Minister, Senator John Owan Enoh, will co-host the glamourous event, and invitations have been extended to Governors Douye Diri (Bayelsa State), Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta State), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa State), and Godwin Obaseki (Edo State).
The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, will serve as the host.
The guest list includes top officials of the Lagos State Government, parliamentarians, NFF Executive Committee members, representatives of NFF’s corporate partners and sponsors, a few members of NFF Management, Chairman and Board of the Lagos State Football Association, football investor Hon. Kunle Soname, former Nigeria captain Dr. Olusegun Odegbami, leading artists, top celebrities, and influencers.
The special dinner will be attended by the 25 players selected for Nigeria’s campaign in the 34th Africa Cup of Nations, along with their officials.
The contingent will arrive in Lagos aboard a chartered aircraft on Tuesday evening.
Following the dinner, the Nigeria contingent will depart Lagos on Wednesday morning for Abidjan, where they will compete in Group A against the host nation Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau.
The delegation will be led by the Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa.
