A Nigerian woman residing in the United States found and returned the whopping sum of $37,500 (N15 million) hidden in chairs that were given to her for free.

Vicky Umodu, residing in San Bernardino, California, had just moved into a new home and was in search of furniture on Craigslist.

She was lucky to see an available furniture because the owners were looking to part with belongings of a late relative.

The family offered the chair to Vicky Umodu without any cost, little did she know that such a huge amount of money was stuck inside.

After taking delivery of the couch, Vicky inspected it and stumbled upon the $37,5000 discreetly kept in one of the chairs.

Vicky Umodu, overwhelmed by the discovery said; “I just moved in, and I don’t have anything in my house. I was so excited, so we picked it up and brought it in. ‘I was just telling my son, ‘Come, come, come!’ I was screaming, ‘This is money! I need to call the guy!’”

However, her determination to do the right thing, saw her promptly contact the family who had provided her with the chairs. They expressed appreciation for her display of honesty and integrity.

After returning the money, the family, whose name remain anonymous rewarded Umodu’s thoughtful act by giving her N900,000 ($2,250).
