Finally some movement on what has otherwise been a quiet deadline day – and finally some good news for Fulham!
Fulham are closing in on the signing of Armando Broja, who is now set for a medical with the club, talkSPORT understands.
It comes after a u-turn from Chelsea over the terms of a possible loan, reducing their demands from a £5million loan fee to a nominal figure instead.
The deal could be worth up to £4m if certain criteria are met, but it’s enough of a reduction to allow Fulham to progress in their talks for the 22-year-old striker.
Chelsea were initially asking for £50m for Broja in either a permanent transfer or loan with obligation to buy, but then reduced their demands to a loan with an option to buy, then this morning it became a straight loan with a £5m fee.
But we understand Chelsea have now further reduced that loan fee to make this move happen, and Fulham are now set to sign the forward player they were craving on deadline day.
A major relief at Craven Cottage.
