Muhammadu Buhari, the president of Nigeria in the immediate past, expressed his happiness with Bola Tinubu’s hike in petrol prices.
He claimed that as a result of the decision, he would see less tourists in Daura, his hometown in Katsina State.
At a gathering hosted by the Katsina Consultative Forum on Sunday at Government House, Katsina’s Presidential Banquet Hall, Buhari made this statement.
Speaking in Hausa, Buhari said that after moving back to Daura, many people continued to visit him. However, he was relieved when Tinubu raised the price of petrol because he had anticipated a decrease in visits.
He also spoke about the menace of drug abuse in Katsina State, saying the problem must be confronted head-on and defeated for the present and future generations.
His words: “A nation’s greatness is measured by how it safeguards its people. Our youths represent our valued asset, and protecting their well-being is crucial for our nation’s future.
“We can’t afford to watch as drug abuse dismantles their potential and the country’s future. I urge all of us to unite and act decisively against drug abuse in the state
