Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has taken the oath of office as the fifth democratically-elected Governor of Kogi State.
Ododo was sworn in by the Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Josiah Mejabi, at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja, the State capital.
He was administered the oath office at exactly 2:27pm after his Deputy, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, who had earlier taken his turn at 2:18 pm amid cheers from a mammoth crowd of personalities and well wishers.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, witnessed the ceremony.
In another development, Yahaya Bello during the week presented the staff of office to the new Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Ahmed Tinaji Anaje.
Sons and Daughters of Ebira Kingdom from around the world gathered in Okene, central senatorial district of Kogi state to witness the Official Coronation and Presentation of Staff of Office to the New Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.
Tijani Anaje was appointed to replace of the Late monarch of the town, Dr. Ado Ibrahim who died on the 29th of October 2023 at 95.
Bello in his speech reiterated his commitment to the traditional institutions in Kogi state and assured the Traditional rulers of continuous support from the incoming administration of Usman Ododo.
