Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State is implementing good governance by prioritizing the welfare of the people in all his programs and policies.
As Sharan Burrow once said, “we all need to work together because there are no jobs on a dead planet; no social justice without a shift in governance and ambition, and ultimately no peace for the people of the world without the guarantees of sustainability.”
This clearly identifies the importance and need to consider the people in government programs and policies. The fulcrum of good governance is the people through sustainable development.
Governor Peter Mbah has recognized this principle and taken steps to ensure that his policies and programs benefit the public. He has ensured the construction of good roads for the masses and standard health centers to support public health. He has also allocated a large percentage of the budget to education to support the development of the state.
The Governor’s actions demonstrate his priorities, shifting from a selfish government that only cares for those in power to a selfless government that cares for all people, regardless of social status, race, or religion. Governor Peter Mbah’s transparency and fairness set him apart from other Governors.
In the words of a political juggernaut, good governance with good intentions is the hallmark of government.
