A former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dele Momodu has accused Nyesom Wike of disloyalty to the party and claims. Even though the FCT minister is working under the administration of President Bola Tinubu, the president’s camp does not trust him.
Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, backed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential election due to a tussle with the leadership of the PDP over the party’s decision to field Atiku Abubakar – from the northern region – as its flagbearer for the exercise.
He was later appointed FCT Minister but has yet to leave the PDP. The party has not sanctioned him despite calls for such.
But Momodu, a publisher, berated Wike for his stance and accused him of trying to destroy the PDP.
“Wike feels he is fooling Tinubu and his people. But Tinubu’s people know him very well,” he said on Tuesday’s edition of Channels Television’s breakfast show Sunrise Daily.
“There is no Nigerian today who does not know that Wike cannot be trusted in any matter especially if it affects his interest in power. For him, power is everything. Money is everything.”
