Benue: Rep Urges Constituents To Pray For Leaders

House of Representatives

A member of the House of Representatives, representing Ado/Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State, Philip Agbese, yesterday asked his constituents to sustain praying for leaders in the country so as to attract more dividends of democracy.

Agbese, who is the deputy spokesman of the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly, stated this while speaking with journalists in Makurdi, the state capital. The lawmaker clarified that he has “no enemy anywhere in the world,” a decision that informed his appointment of over 20 new non-members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) into his Party Unity in Parliamentary Democracy (PUiPD) to bolster his legislative mandate.

Agbese, who spoke through his media aide, Mr Lawrence Oduh, noted that among the new appointees are members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party (LP), among others. He said that he has “forgiven all those who turned their backs on him after benefiting from his generosity,” adding that humanity supersedes personal interests, political affiliation as well as religion and tribe.”
