Inside The Locally-Built Ferries Launched By Lagos State Government

The locally-built, Nigerian-built and Lagos-Built high capacity commercial ferries being commissioned today by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu today at the Badore Jetty, Eti-Osa Local Government Area.

The OMI-BUS is a new, locally built, high-capacity, standard ferry, comfortable and safe.

– The OMI-BUS is international standardized Vessel that meet Bureau Veritas’ specific safety and reliability criteria

– 40 passengers capacity

– The OMI-BUS project, a collaborative effort between the private sector and Lagos State Government.

– Equipped with life buoys, lifejackets, fire extinguishers, and pyrotechnics to reduce the risk of casualties.

– The OMI-BUS is easier to maintain, leading to more consistent and safer service. 

– The OMI-BUS is equipped with more efficient Yamaha outboard engines that produce significantly fewer CO2 emissions, contributing to cleaner air and a reduced environmental footprint.

– The OMI-BUS ferries are have extra features such as USB charging points, a stereo system for your entertainment, LED lighting for a pleasant ambiance, a non-slip deck mat for your safety, and a public address system for continuous updates.

The Boat Yard which is situated inside the Badore Jetty, is owned and run by Caverton Marine led by Mr Bode Makanjuola, in partnership with Lagos State Government.
