Aggrieved Youths in Nnobi community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra state, on Monday, were seen carrying placards in the internal roads in the town, protesting over alleged dethronement of the Traditional ruler of Nnobi, Peace committee doctored reports over Ikemba tittle.
The Aggrieved youths also protest, demanding Prof Amb Jerry Ugokwe to stop parading himself as Ikemba Nnobi.
The youths warned the perpetrators and those who are in a close door meeting to dethrone HRM Igwe Engr Nick Obi FNSE to steer off their action vowing to disrupt the attempt by any person and/or group of persons to insult the Royal institution.
The youth were seen with placards of various inscriptions, such as Say No to Dethronement, Injustice to one is Injustice to all, High Emeka Hamilton Ezeonu is the Authentic Ikemba Nnobi, Peace Committee Reports is a fraud, Amb Jerry Ugokwe should stop parading himself as Ikemba Nnobi among others, said High Chief Emeka Hamilton Ezeonu – Ikemba Nnobi – our Philanthropist we love you,
Speaking during the protest, Mr Makuo Ezeh expressed disappointment on the convener of the Nnobi Peace Committee, Chief Onyechi Ifezue who is also the Okpala of Nnobi community.
According to him the protest is just a warning to some bad elements who are planning to breach the peace enjoyed by members of the community noting that subsequent protest will paralysed economic activities in the town for hours, while there will traffic gridlock during the protest, preventing vehicular movement, as they would force motorists to find alternative routes to go in and out of the town.
He explained that the Traditional ruler of the Nnobi community, HRM Igwe Engr Nick Obi FNSE is a peace loving man and have been working so hard to ensure that the community benefits from dividends of democracy, reaching out to ndi Nnobi in Diaspora to bring home their wealth and open the community for more development.
Palace secretary of Nnobi Ichie Ezeobi Ajaghaku who appealed to the youths for calmness, however, called on the state government to urgently respond to the plights of the people of the community.
