The Board of Directors of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has taken decisive action by sacking the company’s Managing Director, Kingsley Achife. This development, communicated via an internal memo dated May 31, appoints Francis Agoha as the Acting Managing Director, effective immediately.

While the memo did not specify the reasons for Achife’s dismissal, it is speculated that concerns about IBEDC’s performance may have contributed to the decision. The board’s commitment to delivering reliable electricity services to customers and stakeholders remains steadfast, with hopes that new leadership will spur sustainable growth and improved performance.

In the memo obtained by Akelicious, the board expressed gratitude to Achife for his contributions to the company and acknowledged his role in laying the foundation for ongoing transformations. Engineer Francis Agoha, the most senior executive, is tasked with assuming leadership responsibilities and ensuring a smooth transition in collaboration with the board.
