Alex Ekwueme Square

The Anambra State government has temporarily closed the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the state capital, for a comprehensive reconstruction project. The closure, which will last for a few months, is aimed at transforming the square into a modern and vibrant public space.

According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Paul Nwosu, the reconstruction project is part of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts to enhance the aesthetic appeal and utility of public spaces in the state.

While the closure may cause inconvenience to fitness enthusiasts and others who use the square for recreational activities, the government has assured that the end result will be worth the temporary disruption.
