The government of Anambra state has presented a formal appointment letter to ex-tennis star, Ms. Tania Okpala, to serve as a Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Works.
Ms. Okpala received her letter today after a meeting with the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Enerst Ezeajughi, at his office in Awka.
Recall that during a formal handover of Ms. Okpala to her family, following her successful rehabilitation, the governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo announced that the state government had decided to offer her the appointment to help her take care of her education and upkeep.
Ms. Okpala, according to the governor’s wife, will work closely with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, where she will use her life’s story to educate and inspire young people.
The appointment letter, which took effect from June 1, 2024, would be valid through the period of the present administration.
Tania is expected to also engage in social education, counselling, and other activities that will be beneficial to the young population who need primary guidance.
Mrs Soludo has already congratulated Tania Okpala and urged her to repay the state with dedication and service.
In a phone call with Ms. Okpala, the governor’s wife, asked her to carry out her new task with immense commitment and use her personal experience to help others who are seeking direction. #anambrafirst
