FRSC Special Marshal

Corp Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has said that being enlisted as an honorary special marshal is primarily based on an individual’s contributions to the agency.

He said individuals with proven track records, societal influence, and the capacity to mobilise human and material resources to enhance the corps’ activities and road safety are also qualified to be enlisted as honorary special marshals.

Mohammed spoke yesterday in Port Harcourt during the decoration of two distinguished personalities, King-Emperor Nkpe and Mrs Minugiano Onduku, as honorary special marshals.

Mohammed, represented by the commanding officer, Zone 6, Henry Benamesia, stated that road safety is a shared responsibility, pointing out that globally respected citizens partner with the government to handle societal challenges effectively.

He said, “You know that road safety is a shared responsibility. All over the world, respected citizens partner with the government to effectively handle societal challenges. Volunteers are therefore needed as key partners.”

In his welcome speech, FRSC sector commander in Rivers State, Christopher Kuje, said both Nkpe and Onduku have contributed immensely to assisting the corps in carrying out its assigned role of ensuring safety on the roads.

Kuje said, “Indeed, these two personalities have exhibited a high sense of responsibility in helping FRSC in Nigeria, especially in Rivers State, in actualising our goal of saving lives on the roads by providing infrastructure and operational facilities to enhance our duties.
