Federal Ministry of Women Affairs Clears Air on Alleged Fund Misappropriation

The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs has vehemently denied allegations of misappropriation of funds, describing them as “false, biased, and lacking in truth.” In a press release signed by Musa Abdulrahaman, Media Aide to the Minister, the Ministry explained that the Honourable Minister, Barr. Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, had appeared before the House Committee on Women Affairs and presented comprehensive documentation and explanations to address the rumours.

The Ministry emphasized that all program and project payments are meticulously authorized, following established civil service regulations, and that the Minister has filed a lawsuit against Hon. Kafilat Ogbara for libel and defamation. Barr. Ohanenye reiterated her commitment to using resources judiciously for the benefit of Nigerian women and children, vowing to continue serving with transparency and accountability.

The Ministry’s response comes amid recent media reports containing inaccurate information about its activities and leadership. The Honourable Minister’s legal action and the Ministry’s clarifications aim to set the record straight and demonstrate their dedication to serving Nigerian women and children with integrity.
