YD Ahmed, director-general (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), says corps members should avoid travelling without permission from appropriate authorities.
Ahmed spoke on Thursday during his visit to the 2024 batch ‘B’ stream one orientation camps in Bayelsa and Rivers.
The NYSC director-general said any corps member found wanting would be dealt with accordingly.
He urged corp members to be security conscious at all times, and avoid youthful adventures that can put them in harm’s way.
Ahmed emphasised the need for corps members to add value to their place of primary assignments (PPAs) and host communities.
He urged them to execute laudable projects that would improve the standard of living of the residents.
“You must attend all the lectures in camp. Maintain good relationships among yourselves and add value to your host communities and place of primary assignments by executing good projects,” Ahmed said.
Also speaking, Obiageli Okpalifo, the state coordinator of NYSC in Bayelsa, noted that the corps members have adjusted to camp life.
George Mfongang, the Rivers state coordinator, said all 1,800 registered corps members, comprising 663 males and 1,137 females, have displayed a high level of patriotism, discipline, commitment, enthusiasm, and respect for the constituted authority.
