Senator Ali Ndume, Chief Whip of the Senate, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its landmark achievement in liberating local governments from the control of state governors.
The Supreme Court’s recent judgment, prompted by President Tinubu’s legal action, has ensured that local government allocations are now paid directly to the councils, bypassing state governors.
Senator Ndume hailed the decision as a significant victory for grassroots governance and urged prompt implementation to ensure the benefits of good governance reach the local level.
