The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has accused Chekwas Okorie, a former member of the party, of serial blackmail and political jobbery. In a statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, APGA dismissed Okorie’s recent claims as “concocted claptraps” and “fantom political crisis”.
According to Opara, Okorie has a history of blackmailing individuals and institutions for personal gain, and his recent attempt to blackmail the Supreme Court and the Presidency is just another example of his “stock in trade”.
APGA also alleged that Okorie is working with Nicholas Ukachukwu, a financier of his political antics, to deploy blackmail and propaganda against the party and its leaders.
The party affirmed its confidence in Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s leadership and dismissed Okorie’s claims as “baseless and frivolous”. APGA warned that Okorie’s actions will not be taken seriously and urged him to desist from his “political banditry”.
