The Lagos State Government yesterday hosted a special event to celebrate the 90th birthday of Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka. The event, held at the State House, saw Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu present a gift to the literary icon.
Professor Soyinka, in his remarks, expressed his attachment to Lagos State, stating that he is as Lagosian as he can be. He shared a history of his family’s ties to the state, including their property on Franklin Street, Ebute Metta.
The renowned author and playwright urged Governor Sanwo-Olu and his team to continue working to improve the lives of the people in the state and the country at large. He praised the governor’s efforts so far, encouraging him to keep up the good work.
