Lagos State Demolishes Illegal Structures on Drainages to Curb Flooding

Operatives of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources have removed illegal structures built on drainages along Westwood Estate’s primary channel, Badore, as part of the measures to deflood the area.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Thursday, July 18.

He wrote: “Yesterday (Wednesday, 17/07/2024), operatives from the Drainage Enforcement and Compliance Department of Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources #LasgMOE commenced the removal of drainage contravening structures along Westwood Estate primary channel, Badore, as part of deflooding measures in the area.”
