A group of youths from Zamfara State, living in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, staged a protest against bad governance and insecurity in their home state. Under the umbrella of the Zamfara Youth Alliance, FCT chapter, they appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to declare a state of emergency in Zamfara State.

The protesters alleged that the state government, led by Governor Dauda Lawal, is colluding with bandit kingpins, including Turji Bello, and a federal lawmaker, Aminu Sani Jaji, to perpetuate terrorism and banditry. They claimed that this collaboration has led to a surge in insecurity, resulting in the loss of loved ones.

The youths accused Governor Lawal of releasing previously arrested and imprisoned bandits and terrorists, and alleged that Aminu Sani Jaji is sponsoring insecurity due to his failed bid to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The protesters called on President Tinubu to investigate these claims and ensure their safety and security in Zamfara State. They sang slogans during the procession, emphasizing their demands for protection and justice.
