The Dekina Advancement Project, a political platform committed to authentic representation and exemplary leadership, operates across the three political districts of Dekina LGA. After a thorough analysis of the political landscape for the upcoming local government election, the group has urged Hon. Andrew Egbunu to contend for the Chairmanship of Dekina LGA under the SDP banner.
Hon. Andrew Egbunu is acclaimed for his capability to unlock Dekina LGA’s potential. A former PDP member and the immediate past PDP House of Assembly candidate, Egbunu transitioned to the SDP to better serve the interests of his constituents in Kogi. His established political network across the local government provides a strategic advantage for the SDP.
There is optimism that significant reforms in the local government system, supported by National Assembly interventions to empower grassroots governance, can be achieved through Hon. Andrew Egbunu’s leadership.
The coordinator of the Hon. Andrew Egbunu Campaign Movement in the 2023 election (Willini Structure) Comr. Arome Atai has shed light on the reasons for Egbunu’s lost in the House of Assembly race to the APC, attributing it to electoral malpractices facilitated by the incumbent’s influence. Despite this, Egbunu’s strategic planning and unwavering dedication won him the admiration of the PDP executives during both the primary and general elections.
