The Kaduna State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kaduna metropolis and Zaria town with immediate effect.
The state’s security council took the measure after reviewing the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceProtest, which has been hijacked by criminals and also to prevent a breakdown in law and order.
The Overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan says there is ample evidence showing that criminal elements have hijacked the protest, leading to looting and the destruction of both private and public property.
The state government has also advised citizens to stay indoors while security forces work to maintain safety and security.
