Tinubu Signs Law Granting 300% Salary Increase to Judicial Office Holders, CJN to Earn ₦64 Million Annually
President Bola Tinubu has signed into law a bill that significantly increases the salaries of judicial office holders by 300%.
The legislation, which was approved by the Senate in June, will now ensure that the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) receives an annual salary of ₦64 million.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Basheer Lado, the President’s Special Adviser on Senate Affairs, highlighted that President Tinubu’s approval of the bill reflects his unwavering commitment to the welfare of public servants.
He stated, “This exceptional decision demonstrates President Tinubu’s firm prioritization of the well-being of Nigerian workers, just as he recently paused a Federal Executive Council meeting to sign the new National Minimum Wage Bill of ₦70,000 into law.”
