A nationwide protest tagged “Fearless in October” has been scheduled to take place across Nigeria and the diaspora, starting from October 1st. The movement, led by activist Omoyele Sowore, aims to demand change, justice, and a better future for Nigeria.
The protest coincides with the second anniversary of the Lekki Toll Gate massacre, where Nigerian youths lost their lives during a peaceful End SARS protest in October 2020. The movement seeks to honor the memories of those who paid the ultimate price for freedom and to push forward their legacy of courage and determination.
According to Sowore, the protest will take place in all cities, towns, and villages in Nigeria, with major gatherings expected at state capitals, government houses, Eagles Square in Abuja, and Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos. The movement demands an end to systemic oppression, justice, and accountability from the government.
Nigerians have been urged to join the protest, which will be a peaceful demonstration of their desire for a better Nigeria. The movement’s motto, “Together, we are Fearless in October,” emphasizes the power of unity in bringing about change.
As the protest approaches, Nigerians are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to make their voices heard and demand a better future for themselves and generations to come.
