Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has confidently predicted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the governorship election in Abia State in 2027.
Kalu, who is the sixth-highest official in Nigeria, vowed to ensure that the Labour Party’s tenure in the state comes to an end, stating, “This will be the last term for the Labour Party in governing Abia State. As the sixth citizen of Nigeria, I am determined that no other party will govern my state.”
He attributed his prediction to President Bola Tinubu’s efforts in Abia State and Igboland, saying, “This is the only way to thank President Tinubu for what he is doing in Abia State and Igboland.”
Kalu’s statement suggests that the APC is already strategizing to unseat the Labour Party in Abia State, with the Deputy Speaker playing a key role in the party’s plans.
