The Anambra State Police Command has announced a major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping in the state. On August 20, 2024, a combined team of Police, Military, and AVG operatives busted a criminal den at UMUDURU, IHIALA, rescuing a kidnap victim unharmed.

The operation followed the arrest of a suspect a few weeks ago, who confessed to being a member of a notorious kidnap gang terrorizing the state, especially in Ihiala.

The rescued victim has been debriefed and released to their family, while operations are still ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang.

This success is a significant milestone in the efforts of the Anambra State Police Command to combat kidnapping and ensure the safety of citizens.

Further developments will be communicated, according to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, Awka.
