Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has slammed the club’s lack of ambition, saying that they should be competing for the Premier League and Champions League titles every year.
In an interview with Five, Ronaldo expressed his frustration with the club’s current mindset, saying: “This is Man United! You have to be there, to mentally say… listen, maybe we don’t have that potential, but I cannot say that. We’re going to try.”
Ronaldo, who won three Premier League titles and the Champions League during his time at United, believes that the club needs to rebuild and listen to the advice of former players like Rio Ferdinand, Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, and Sir Alex Ferguson.
“You cannot rebuild a club without knowledge,” he said. “If Ten Hag listens to Ruud van Nistelrooy… maybe he can help. He knows the club and the club should listen to the guys who were there, as this is really important.”
