Imo police command begin orderly trial of officers caught on tape taking bribe from commercial bus drivers
The Imo state police command has begun the orderly trial of its officers caught on tape receiving bribe from commercial bus drivers in the state. A video showing one of the patrol officers accepting money from a commercial bus driver made the rounds on social media over the weekend. The spokesperson of the command, ASP Henry Okoye, in a statement released over the weekend, said the state commissioner of police had ordered the arrest of the erring officers.
In a statement released today October 17, Okoye said the command has commenced an orderly room trial of the officers caught in a viral video extorting money in Owerri. He gave the names of the officers as Inspector Ibrahim Nainna, Inspector Unaka Maxvirgin, Inspector Miller Ibinitta and Sergeant Antony Alozie
Okoye mentioned that the results of the proceedings will be communicated in due course.
