Two Arrested for Pipeline Vandalism, Crude Oil Theft in Rivers State

Two suspects have been arrested by the Joint Task Force operatives of the 6 division Nigerian Army at Odogwa creeks in Rivers state.

The suspects were arrested after vandalizing pipelines and siphoned crude oil from oil wells into wooden boats, popularly known as Cotonou boats before the Joint Task Force swooped on them in the line of duty.

The siphoned crude oil which were also packed in sacks to deceive security operatives, was discovered in the remote creeks as well as tanks used by the oil thieves for their illegal activities.

Meanwhile, two petroleum tankers stationed to lift stolen crude oil was also seized by the Nigerian Army led Joint Task Force as manhunt for other suspects who absconded during the operation continues.

The GOC 6 division Nigerian Army Major General Jamal Abdulsalam while commending the operatives for the operation, warn that it is no longer business as usual for oil thieves in the Niger Delta, as he calls for useful information from members of oil Producing communities in the Niger Delta region.

    What a country?
    What are the names of those arrested?
    Meaning that they are being shielded. Only an upright person can fight corruption to a stand still.
    Meaning that we, as a country are not yet ready.
