Overall, I am a highly respected and recognized artist in the world of jazz music, known for my powerful vocals and innovative approach to the genre.
“For me, music is not just a passion, it’s the very air I breathe. It’s my life. Well, I enjoy collecting art. I also love fashion. I designed all the outfits featured in The Golden Sèkèrè album, including the album cover outfit. I engage in charitable work by giving to organizations dear to me. I am also sometimes involved in volunteer work, working with organizations, communities, and youth in foster care. Giving support and working with them has inspired me in my songwriting and recordings, and I am grateful for the inspiration that they provide to me.
“Also, my fans are a huge inspiration to me. Their support and love for my music keep me creating and pushing boundaries. Knowing that my music has touched someone’s life is my greatest reward. Life also inspires me in many ways. Whether it’s a beautiful song, a powerful emotion, or a profound moment of connection with another person, life always has something to offer that I can translate into music. I was born a star.
Ms. Douyé added, “Music is a universal language that transcends borders and cultures, and I believe that everyone deserves to experience its power and beauty. By sharing my gift, I hope to spread the message of hope, love, and unity to people all over the world. Whether it’s through a live performance, a recorded album, or a social media post, I believe that every opportunity to share my gift is an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.
“I have released over five albums but there are so many unreleased projects in my storage. Speak Low is a beautiful jazz tune with a rich melody. I chose it because I wanted to display my level of musical range.
“I am always working on something and it is only a matter of time before I release something. Music is a vessel that can touch all hearts. Music can be used to encourage positive changes.”
