The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has given a 2-week ultimatum to residents of over 15 identified distressed buildings at Iponri Housing Estate to pull them down
GM LASBCA, Arc. Gbolahan Oki, said the Agency has issued several notices and warning to the affected residents to vacate the area.
The residents agree that the buildings are distressed but some are bringing up issues of ‘court order’ and all that.
This is what the agency faces in trying to do the right thing UNTIL the building collapse happens and the Government still gets the blame.
There will be a meeting between MD LBIC (Lagos Building Investment Company) and representatives of the affected distressed properties tomorrow by 11:00 on the way forward.
