Renowned investigative journalist, Jackson Ude, has issued a daring challenge to the Nigerian military to produce evidence confirming the whereabouts and well-being of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
Ude’s call comes amidst swirling rumors surrounding Gen. Lagbaja’s alleged passing, which the military has swiftly dismissed as “fake news.” Drawing parallels with the opaque handling of late President Musa Yar’Adua’s health crisis, Ude insists taxpayers deserve transparency regarding the army chief’s status.
“The military cannot continue to keep Nigerians in the dark,” Ude stated. “Gen. Lagbaja is a public servant, and his well-being is of utmost importance to the nation. A simple video or credible update would suffice.”
