Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad recently expressed his frustration over the soaring costs of domestic flights in Nigeria. Reflecting on his recent journey from Guangzhou, China to Singapore via AirAsia, Ahmad noted that the one-way ticket only cost him $105. With the exchange rate at $1 = 1,605 Naira, the total cost amounted to 168,525 Naira for a 5-hour 30-minute international flight.

Ahmad highlighted the stark contrast between the affordable international travel options and the rising airfares within Nigeria, emphasizing that many Nigerians struggle with the high costs of local flights.
