Senator Ned Nwoko of Delta North has called for the establishment of a comprehensive national database that would include all citizens, from the highest officials to everyday workers.

During a recent public address, Nwoko emphasized the need for a system that identifies individuals in critical need of assistance, ensuring they receive monthly support as a fundamental right, independent of personal connections or influence.

Nwoko highlighted the importance of this initiative in addressing poverty and improving the welfare of Nigerians. “By having a national database, we can accurately identify those who require help the most,” he stated. “This approach will not only streamline the distribution of aid but also promote transparency and accountability in government support programs.”

The senator’s proposal aims to create a safety net for vulnerable populations, reducing dependency on informal networks and fostering a more equitable distribution of resources. Nwoko urged the government to prioritize the development of this database to better serve its citizens and uplift those in dire circumstances.
