Senate Adjourn Plenary to November 19

The Nigerian Senate on Thursday adjourned plenary sittings till November 19, 2024.

President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio, made the announcement during plenary.

Akpabio said the two weeks would afford their relevant committees to carry out oversight functions on ongoing projects to determine the level of performance of the 2024 capital budget.

He said the the oversight is part of the constitutional obligation of National Assembly to the Nigerian people and requested for cooperation from all MDAs to ensure the success of the oversight.

The lawmakers are gearing up to receive the medium term expenditure framework and fiscal strategy paper (MTEF/FSP).

The MTEF and FSP are parameters on which any budget is predicated on.

President Bola Tinubu is expected to present the 2025 budget proposal to a joint session of the national assembly soon.
