Biden Congratulates Trump, Vows ‘Peaceful Transition’ and Hopes to Restore Faith in U.S. Democracy

President Joe Biden has addressed the US for the first time since the US elections, pledging a “peaceful and orderly” transfer of power to President-elect Donald Trump.

Following Vice President Kamala Harris’s concession, Biden congratulated Trump and promised full cooperation from his administration.

Biden and Harris had previously criticized Trump as a threat to democracy, but now Biden has shifted his tone, calling for unity and mutual respect among Americans.

He praised Harris’ campaign and expressed hope that this election would affirm trust in the integrity of the U.S. electoral system, describing it as “honest, fair, and transparent.”
