In a heartfelt statement, Chief Onyemelukwe Eusebius Zonyelu, a respected financial expert, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his tireless efforts to restore hope and confidence in good governance across Nigeria. Acknowledging the immense challenges the nation faces, Chief Zonyelu called on the president to remain committed to driving meaningful reforms aimed at reviving the country’s economy and social fabric.

Chief Zonyelu emphasized the significance of the president’s ongoing initiatives and expressed his confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, stressing that Nigeria’s path to prosperity depends on the resilience of its people and the continued dedication of its leadership.

However, in a poignant appeal, Chief Zonyelu also called for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in a bid to alleviate the suffering in the southeastern region, which has been exacerbated by the ongoing sit-at-home protests. The protests, which have caused significant economic and social disruption in the region, have led to widespread loss of income and hardship for many families.

Zonyelu believes that releasing Nnamdi Kanu could serve as a positive gesture to ease tensions in the region, promote peace, and foster a sense of unity among Nigerians, especially those in the East. He emphasized that such a move would send a strong message of reconciliation and healing, helping to bridge the divide between various ethnic and regional groups in the country.

“I fully support the president’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria, but I urge him to consider this important step in addressing the grievances of the Southeast,” Zonyelu said. “It is a crucial time for Nigeria to embrace inclusivity and work towards national healing and unity.”

Concluding his statement, Chief Zonyelu reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Tinubu’s leadership and expressed optimism for the nation’s future. He also called for all Nigerians to remain steadfast in their resolve to build a stronger, more united country.

“Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria, long live President Tinubu, and long live the patriotic citizens of our great nation,” Zonyelu concluded.

The call for Nnamdi Kanu’s release and the appeal for peace in the Southeast come at a time of increasing calls for national unity, as Nigerians face significant socio-economic challenges. President Tinubu has yet to comment on the appeal.
