Anambra State Commits to Protecting Women and Girls from Violence, Says Nonye Soludo

The growing menace of violence against women and girls continues to be a major societal challenge, with alarming statistics underscoring the need for urgent intervention. As global attention turns to this issue on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Anambra State has reiterated its commitment to addressing the crisis.

The wife of Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, joined the global community in marking this critical day, emphasizing that violence against women and girls is not only a human rights violation but a societal threat that destabilizes communities. In her statement, she condemned all forms of violence against women and girls, stressing that every woman and girl deserves the right to live without fear and to achieve their full potential without limits.

Our commitment is clear: no woman or girl in Anambra should live in fear. Every woman and girl deserves to be valued, respected, and supported in all their endeavors,” said Mrs. Soludo. “As a government, we have consistently worked to create an enabling environment where Anambra women and girls can thrive and succeed, and we will continue to fight for their safety, well-being, and empowerment.”

The state government has pledged to take further action to protect women and girls from all forms of violence, ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable. Mrs. Soludo highlighted the importance of education, community engagement, and the creation of safe spaces for women to flourish.
