The inspector general of police, Kayode Egbetokun has called for a multidimensional and multi stakeholders approaches towards tackling security threats and challenges across schools in Ogun state
He made the call in Abeokuta,the state capital where he was represented by the Assistant inspector general of police zone 2, Assistant inspector general of police , Adegoke Fayoade at the stakeholders forum on the security of schools in Ogun state and launch of the Ogun state police command schools protection squad.
According to the commissioner of police in charge of the safe school initiative, Lanre Ogunlowo, the initiative seeks to enlist the support of schools host communities, enhance the capacity of security agencies, gather intelligence, prevent and respond to attacks in schools
While the state commissioner of police, Abiodun Alamutu promises successful implementation of the initiative, the state commissioner of education, Prof. however called for deployment of modern technology to address emerging threats
