The Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr. Chaka Chukwumerije, who gave this cheering news to newsmen, said that this follows extensive discussions and community negotiations by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, and the Special Assistant on Lands and Housing, Pastor Okorougo Aji, covering the seven land donor communities in Nsulu.
According to the Commissioner, a proper understanding has been reached with the land donor communities, which includes the joint survey activities between the Office of the Surveyor General and the Nsulu donor Communities as represented by their various youth leaders.
In his words, “At the commencement of the survey on Saturday, November 30, 2024, some members of the Umunna Nsulu protested not being carried along. The Chief of Staff to the Governor was quick to address them and reassured them that anybody that felt he or she had not been carried along will be appropriately engaged.
“Following this swift intervention by the Chief of Staff, the survey activities led by the Surveyor General of the state, NKC Abaraonye, continued with the representatives of each of the Land donor communities actively involved”.
He reaffirmed that proper enumeration will be done and fair compensation paid, in line with the Land Use Act.
He appreciated the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, and the Special Assistant on Lands and Housing, Pastor Okorougo Aji, for the continuous efforts at community engagements.
He asserted that Gov. Otti’s government is firing on all cylinders in pursuit of its vision “to restore the glory of Abia State and make her truly No. 1 State in Nigeria, as really God’s own State.”
He called on media workers to be partners in progress towards the realization of the airport project.
