The Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has approved a series of transformative infrastructure and education projects, emphasizing Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to development and innovation across the state. The approvals were announced during the council’s 36th meeting, held shortly after the Supreme Court affirmed Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa as the legitimate national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Major Road Construction and Rehabilitation Projects
- Trans-Nkisi Boulevard 1 Road, Onitsha
- Cost: ₦2.1 billion

- Completion: 6 months
- Nanka-Aguluzigbo-Umuona Road
- Length: 8.906 km
- Cost: ₦7.5 billion
- Contractor: IDC Construction Company
- Completion: 12 months
- Mbaukwu-Awgbu-Amaetiti-Okpaeze Road
- Length: 16.37 km with a 22-meter bridge
- Cost: ₦10.95 billion
- Contractor: Cossel Construction Ltd

- Azigbo-Awka Etiti-Amichi-Onuselogu Road
- Length: 4.56 km
- Cost: ₦2.6 billion

Additional projects include the rehabilitation of the 19.1 km Awkuzu-Igbariam-Anaku Link Road, the construction of Aguleri Uno to Aguleri Otu Road, and reconstruction works in Onitsha and Omagba.
Smart School Development Initiative
ANSEC approved ₦13.5 billion for the development of 22 Smart Schools across 21 Local Government Areas. These schools aim to redefine secondary education in the state, equipping students to thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Contracts for the Smart School initiative include:
- ICT Equipment: ₦1.3 billion by Bonitas Technologies and Marketing Ltd
- Solar Power Installation: ₦775.5 million by Log-Electrik Ltd
- Other School Equipment: ₦4.46 billion by Alien Core Edge Ltd
- Civil Works and Water Facilities: ₦6.98 billion by a consortium of 22 vendors
Streetlight Project in Awka
The Council also invited fresh tenders for the installation of solar-powered streetlights in Awka Metropolis. Interested vendors have been advised to contact the State’s Ministry of Power and Water Resources for details.

- Construction of Nteje-Otuocha Road: ₦668.6 million
- Rehabilitation of New Market Road, Onitsha: ₦1.3 billion
- Anambra State College of Health Technology Equipment Supply: ₦197.5 million
The Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, emphasized that these projects reflect the government’s determination to build a livable, prosperous mega-city while ensuring equitable development across all 21 local governments.
